Speculation over a possible touch screen BlackBerry has been bouncing around the web for years. Well it’s safe to say that is has been a long time coming but one thing we now do know for sure is that the new BlackBerry Storm will arrive with the very latest touchscreen technology. And as it’s the first BlackBerry model to have a virtual keyboard we’re expecting something pretty special to land in the palm of our hands when Vodafone finally releases it in October.

BlackBerry Keeps Schtum about the Storm

Some BlackBerry fans may think the BlackBerry Storm is a little overdue, and justifiably so. If for no other reason than that over the past year or so we’ve had to endure blanket, non-stop media coverage of the iPhone - every tech blog and website was flooded with talk of the iPhone but the BlackBerry proved elusive.

We’ve heard many claims and conflicting opinions surrounding the iPhone while BlackBerry was quietly getting on with what it does best; producing versatile, stylish and user friendly phones. But minor frustrations aside, we should now be rubbing our hands in excited anticipation at the arrival of the BlackBerry Storm.

Will the BlackBerry Storm Touchscreen Interface Live Up to All the Hype?

So will the new Storm mobile’s touchscreen interface live up to the hype and deliver? Only time will tell of course but one thing’s for sure, you can’t argue with the fact that RIM is known for making smart phones with high-quality keyboards. From the smart and sophisticated BlackBerry curve to the more recent Blueberry Bold 9000 with its hardware QWERTY keyboard and guitar inspired frets – the metal strips between each row.

But it’s a fact that many of us now crave touchscreen and since iPhone and other touchscreen devices set the bar in smart phone technology, it’s not surprising that when the BlackBerry Storm finally arrives, BlackBerry will be looking to raise the bar yet again. All in all it’s perhaps the most eagerly anticipated touchscreen yet!
